I think we have a date for the project. It is much later than I expected but May 31st is probably the earliest day we can post it. Still, I'm excited to show you all what Luningning and I have been up to.In other news, Tahereh Mafi will coming to National Bookstore in the Philippines! I will be there tomorrow. Will I see you there?
Feature & Follow is weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read. It's a fun way to meet and greet other great bloggers out there!
Don't have GFC? You can still follow by email, Linky, Networked Blogs, Twitter, or
Facebook! You can find them all on the sidebar. This week's question
is...
Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you’ve done, that as you gained more experience you were like — oops?
Weeeelll, there isn't much but they have been pretty bad. One happened on another blog, years ago. I did not know how to reject a request. I accepted every request that came my way because I felt horribly guilty even thinking about rejecting them--even if I had no desire to read the book at all. I was too nice back then, not to mention very hesitant about posting anything lower than three stars in a review. I didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings. The review pile grew to a monstrous size and eventually, after locking myself in the house for days, I miraculously managed to read and review every last book. Because of that disaster, I thought book blogging was not for me and quit for a time. Forget oops, I felt like I wanted to jump off a cliff in embarrassment and shame. I still feel like jumping off a cliff. Never again will I make a mistake like that.
It is hard to not accept reviews, I always feel bad telling someone no. :( I do it, but I don't like doing it.

Its really hard to say no to authors and publishers. Especaily when its a self published author.

Hi! Thanks for dropping by! I find it hard to reply to review requests of books I don't want to read too.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new NB follower.
I haven't said no, yet. Uh oh... lol

It's fine as long as the book is something you truly want to read, and you can find a balance. If so, there's nothing to worry about.
DeleteIt is hard to do, but we learn :)

Don't be embarrassed! I've seen this confession a lot today. I'm glad you came back to blogging.
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks. Misery loves company.
DeleteI'm so glad to have read everyone's FF this week, I definitely was afraid to say no to reviews, but now I realize I can't be that way!

Wow, that sounds awful! I couldn't imagine being inundated with that many review requests. As it is, I don't get ANY review requests lol. I don't know if that's b/c I don't post my email on my review site or what. But I kind of like reviewing only the books I actually want to read. BUT I wouldn't mind helping spread the word about indie books either. Shrugs.
